NUESA EXCLUSIVE: Students-lecturer award insight

On Tuesday the 7th of November the Department of Guidance and counselling in commemoration of their "It begins with me campaign" hosted her annual students- lecturers award ceremony at the faculty of education.

The event brought together students from various levels, including the 100 level, 200 level, and 300 level students of Guidance and Counseling. It was heartwarming to see students from different stages of their academic journey come together to share in this celebration.

The awards handed out during the ceremony spanned a wide range of categories, each designed to recognize the unique talents and virtues of our students and lecturers namely 
1.2023 Best performing president_Miss Anionu Gift Onyinye
2.2023 Political icon of the year_Comr. Ifesinachi Donald Udoka
3. 2023 Five star Honours _Elvis Osas Edobor
4. 2023 Excellent Effort Award _ Alli Oladele Oluwasegun
5. 2023 Best Makeup Artist- Anaeto Chidinma Blessing 
6. 2023 Miss Manners_ Madukolu Chinyere Esther
7. 2023 Socialite of the year_Anaeto Chidinma Blessing

These awards acknowledged not just academic excellence but also the qualities that make well-rounded individuals. 



In addition to these categories, the event saw other deserving lecturers receiving prestigious certificate of recognition in various fields. These certificate celebrated outstanding achievements and contributions across our department.These lecturers are Mr. Francis Linus Ameh,Prof. P. O. Ojiah,Dr. Olubunmi I. Ojji.


One of the highlights of the day was the "Best Makeup Artist" award. It showcased the creative and artistic talents of our students, proving that excellence goes beyond the classroom. It was a testament to the diverse skill sets our students possess.

Recognizing the "Political icon of the year" was another heartwarming moment. In a world where connectivity and relationships matter more than ever, this award acknowledged the importance of social and political skills and the ability to build meaningful connections with others.

The "Miss Manners" award emphasized the significance of etiquette and courtesy in today's society. It's a reminder that respect and civility are values we should cherish and uphold.

The event was not just about the awards, but also about fostering a sense of community and appreciation among our students. It inspired everyone to strive for excellence and embody the qualities celebrated during the ceremony.
