No fewer than 145 persons are said to have been killed in bandits’ attacks on 23 villages in Plateau State on Christmas Eve.

The blood-curling simultaneous attacks by assailants on over 15 communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau state on Christmas Eve have caused pain in the hearts of well meaning Nigerians and the whole world.

An unprecedented and monumental attack on December 24, 2023, at 2200hrs, on the following 12 villages in Bokkos LGA; Ndun, Ngyong, Murfet, Makundary, Tamiso, Chiang, Tahore, Gawarba, Dares, Meyenga, Darwat and Butura Kampani.

“Similarly, on December 24, 2023, at about 2245hrs, three villages in Barkin-Ladi LGA, namely NTV, Hurum, and Darawat, were also attack

The terrorists set several houses ablaze on Sunday night and also looted farm produce and destroyed properties as they butchered the residents.

The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has disclosed that the death toll in the Christmas Eve attacks in the state has risen to over 115 and still counting.

Mutfwang spoke on Tuesday while featuring on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

He stated that the attacks were unprovoked while tasking the security agents to unravel the sponsors of the “carnage” and their blood-thirsty foot-soldiers.

I'm now baffled with this touch of negligence of function by our government in prioritising the safety of her citizens. They expect the unpaid federal workers to go in hunt of the assailants?

This is total negligence by our government.

Though they intended to break the spirit of the people and pull down the two local governments, they remained unfazed"

Concluded the governor.
