At least 3 mobile phones were confirmed stolen when thieves ransacked the old  female hostel of the University of Abuja, mini campus.

Nuesa press gathered that the incident happened around 2am on Thursday at the G. Abisogun Alo female hostel in the mini Campus of the institution and has caused apprehension among the female students.


One of the affected students, Apeh Naomi Sandra, a 200l student of political science whose phone was stolen at Unit 8 block 31, said she discovered that her phone had been stolen when her roommate
woke them up around 2:33am.

The roommate who spoke to the press during the interrogation time at the crime unit today at the mini-Campus,said she was the only one awake in the room of four when the thief who was dressed in black with a Knife,a scissors and a torchlight invaded their room through the window.

"I was so terrified because my head was close to the window and the thief flashed his light on my face,so I couldn't shout until he stretched his hands from the window after using the scissors to cut the net,and collected the phone, I was really scared because this has never happened to me,she said.

When asked about the doors,if it was locked, She said they locked their door and went to bed and the thief didn't use the door.

The other victims, are 400l student of science and environmental and an illegal squatter from chemistry department, all in Unit 8,Block 29,also reported in the safety unit at the same hours.


The safety unit crime section has also advised the students to remain calm as there was no evidence of forceful entrance and the matter would soon be resolved with an ongoing investigation.
