The Political BROUHAHA Must end; A Cry For Our future
An SOS from a concerned leader for good governance, crying for the unity of her home.

Imagine that it is January 1st, 2028, the 40th anniversary of the UofA, a day for reflecting on UofA's successes and failures. The newspaper headline announces, "Last Remaining Unionism in the UofA Student's Government Dries Up, Due to Disunity and Political BROUHAHA."

The article continues: "The last patch of the students welfare will soon be stripped away.

"Student's union democracy and voice will ebb away. The students will now go back to the old ways without a leader, thereby jeopardising the efforts of the Veteran Comr. Ladipo Solanke 1925 students union?.

"Never!, I say, not in our days will we allow the hard work of our founding fathers like the first elected president of the union, our Father, Prof. Umar Kari and others to fall to naught all in the name of politics. We are going to 40 years of our existence and we must improve in governance.

I will tell a short story that my principal His excellency, Gov. Nasir El Rufai once told me, with so deep meaning  for us all.

THERE was a man in KADUNA who has repeatedly accused Governor El Rufai's Goverment of massive corruption through the media houses.

The young man named 'JARFA' was one day invited to the Government house by the Governor, who directed Mr. Jarfa to charter a 'KEKE NAPEP' that he (the Governor) will pay when he arrived and that he had already instructed the security details at the gate for his free passage...

Mr. Jarfa arrived as instructed and the Governor told him to let the KEKE man go and that his men will drop him later...

He gave Mr. Jarfa N200,000.00 to pay the KEKE man as a way of empowering the poor rider as well as to let the KEKE man always remember the very day he brought a passenger to the Government House....

The Governor asked Mr. Jarfa upon his return from paying the KEKE man, "What was the reaction of the KEKE man after giving him such a huge amount?

Mr. Jarfa answered that the KEKE man was actually dazed with shock!!!

Unknown to Mr. Jarfa, the security details at
the 2nd gate had been asked to stop the KEKE
When the KEKE man was brought back to the Governor, the Governor asked him, "How much did Mr. Jarfa give you???

And the KEKE man said N2,000.00. This happened in the presence of 'Holier-than-thou' MR. JARFA!

The Governor smiled and said, "You see... from N200,000.00 to N2,000.00, you have pocketed N198,000.00 in a space of a second, only you!!! You have lost the chance to own a brand new car. Look at the key here.

I thought you were a honest man. I was even looking forward to working with you, but you have messed up, you are even worse! You can leave now with your N198,000.00. Thank you very much for coming!!!"

Since that very day, Mr. Jarfa's voice has disappeared from the radar of Media Airwaves!!!

May our loyalty and honesty never be tested!! Most of us are Mr. Jarfa waiting to happen on Nigeria.
Note:A thief catching a thief. Does not make the hunter less of a thief.

God, help my faithfulness to be truly faithful. That's the kind of leaders and followers we are, yet demanding much from leaders raised amongst us.

Real Change begins with me and You. Criticism has never been a way out, for we all know the story of Tai Solarin and Former president IBB.

In leu of this looming danger that is always caused by disunity and criticism, I must urge us all to remember the last words of Muammar Gaddafi of Libya

"I did all I could to help people Understand the concept of real democracy, where people’s committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more.

They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed “democracy” and “freedom” never realizing it was a cut throat system where “the biggest dog eats the rest”, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup".
Let's not allow critics and hearsay divide us just like Regan made the Libyans to divide before taking a gem out of Africa.

O! UofA leaders and students, Let's unite to fight for our students welfarism and stop the criticism and internal wars for it will never leave a good trademark for us.

May God help us all.
