JUST IN: ..And the King said, "Time and chance happen to us all,so choose the right mates to smile with

In the days when the judges and lawyers ruled in the world of men, a severe recession came upon the earth. So a man from Bethlehem in Judah left his home and went to live in the country of Moab;present day Jordan, taking his wife and two sons with him.

As they settled at Jordan,Elimelech died, and Naomi,his wife was left with her two sons who married Jordanian women. Mahlon married Orprah and Kilion married Ruth. After 10-years,the two sons died and left Naomi alone, without her two sons or her husband.

Then Mrs. Naomi heard in the newspapers that the Lord had blessed his people in Judah by giving them good crops again. So Mrs Naomi and her daughters-in-law got ready to leave Jordan to return to her homeland.

While enroute, Mrs Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go back to your mothers’ homes. And may the Lord reward you for your kindness to your husbands and to me. May the Lord bless you with the security of another marriage.” 

Then she kissed them good-bye, and they all broke down and wept. “No,” they said. “We want to go with you to your people.”

 But Naomi replied, “Why should you go on with me? Can I still give birth to other sons who could grow up to be your husbands, at this my age?

And again they wept together, and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-bye. But Ruth clung tightly to Mrs Naomi. 

“Look,” Naomi said to Ruth, “your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods. You should do the same.” But Ruth replied, “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!”

Truly, in this journey of success,as we learn to unlearn things,we also get into relationships and also leave most relationships that are against our vision. 

The love that has been displayed by Ruth is similar to the love Christ has for his church, this is also similar to the love we all need as coursemates,to always stick together against all odds, having it in mind that no man knows tomorrow.

 No wonder,Rabbinical tradition attributes King Solomon, who was in his septuagint age, in the 970–931BC as

preached a world-class wisdom that all men should know.``` 

 King Solomon using examples of normal cause and effect which teaches that time and chance can upend and no matter what we do, we cannot prevent time and chance, events, from overriding the consequences of our own actions.

 And the King said,"I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.

So,now that we are at UofA, the right place, at the right time with the right coursemates, let's stick together for time and chance happens to us all.
