MAY NA’ALLAH HAPPEN TO NIGERIA; A PLETHORA OF ACHIEVEMENTS OF PROF. ABDUL-RASHEED NA’ALLAH.

In the heart of Nigeria, within the walls and the seat of The Presidency, lies the prestigious UofA – a citadel of technological innovations, a new era dawned
1826 days ago. An era that was promised of taking the UofA to its apogee—credit to Prof. Mahfouz A. Adedimeji's Toast for Na’Allah, published on 28th July, 2019. A good read that aptly prophesied for UofA on its fortune of having such a prodigy –Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah at the helms of its affairs. Today,as we bid him farewell from the office by 11:59pm, I and my 93.3% of the students populace whom I dare represent, stand to affirm that indeed, we've witnessed those promises and prophesies, come to pass.

The University of Abuja led by Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah, a technocratic giant and a scion of the great Oak Tree, who in the space of 43,815 hours, turned a once known glorified secondary school into a world class university.

Apart from the intellectual ebullience and academic fecundity of this great man of letters, what was intriguing and thrilling to me was the way Prof. Na’Allah ran the affairs of the university sacrosanct calendar with so much passion, making sure that his frequent statement of fact never failed to naught — "The UofA is the best university in Nigeria".

The first day I had him speak so high of our alma-mata both in words and in doing, I dared to know where his drives for such a great UofA, did rise. As an Alumnus of University of Ilorin, could it be because UofA was birthed in 1988,which was fortunately the same year Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah graduated from the University of Ilorin? or because his heart beats for a great and united Nigeria? I'm yet to get the real motive from him, but I will truly pray, may Na’Allah happen to Kwara State.

From the onset, he orchestrated an unprecedented introduction of online integrated portal system and the use of computer based test for our exams, which migrated our students and lecturers from the ancient analog methods with diverse disadvantages to a world class digital method that would allow students have access to their academic records wherever they are around the world, setting a new cultural and digital precedence in the institution’s history. It was the first leap of joy, unity, and new beginnings, symbolizing the dawn of a new era.

To spice things up and make the UofA graduates the best in the field of work, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah introduced several foreign languages like French, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish etc which gave all students the opportunity to migrate to any country of their choice during and after their day's in the UofA.

I write not for favour but to tell the truth as I've always did, and I dare challenge anyone who has any evidence of another Vice-Chancellor who has done more with IGR to argue with their keyboard or remain silent forever, for if urination is easy, let the hen do it. We now school and practice like we're in Japan with the recent introduction of the Na’Allah bicycle ride, making life easy and affordable for both privileged and less privileged students, coupled with the first to none Na’Allah free courtesy ride.
O! May Na’Allah happen to Kwara State.

The crowning achievement, however,is the  Infrastructural developments, we now boast of World class academic conference center, New Staff Quaters, The Na’Allah community market,  International hostels for male and females, Indoor sports stadium, Construction of new senate building, The post graduate hostel, The super model community mosque, etc No wonder, he always boast of the UofA as the best university in Nigeria.

The successful completion of the University of Abuja micro-finance bank is a milestone achievement that no university in Nigeria would ever boast of having. Here, the micro-finance bank not only guides new entrepreneurship minds, but also uplifts them, giving grants to deserving students and staffs. What a great innovation for education! Such a round peg in a round hole, may Na’Allah happen to Kwara State.

The establishment of the UofA Radio was a testament to Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah's commitment to academic excellence and leadership development, and the world must know that just as he always boasted, "if it's from UofA, then it is the best". He has taken University of Abuja to where it should be, far from where it was. This is because, to paraphrase Rosalyn Carter, Prof. Na’Allah is not just a leader who takes people to where they want to go, he is a great leader who takes people to where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.

This past week have truly shown that my 93.3% students populace are excited about the plethora achievements of our indefatigable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah! Prof has thus been adjudged  the National Best Vice Chancellor in Nigeria. The prestigious award which was conferred on him at the weekend by the Students Union Government is in recognition and celebration of his visionary leadership, unwavering passion, and relentless dedication to transforming UofA into a world-class university, particularly in the field of ICT training.

Under Prof. Na’Allah’s guidance, UofA has embarked on an incredible journey to establish the biggest solar plant in the history of public tertiary institutions right here in Nigeria. This ambitious agenda is already making remarkable progress and its impact can be felt throughout the higher education landscape. Prof. Na’Allah’s clear vision and commitment to fostering innovation and technological advancement are evident to everyone who witnesses the transformation unfolding in the university.

It is truly commendable that Prof. Na’Allah’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. Over the past few months, he has received numerous significant honours, serving as a testament to his immense influence and recognition within the academic and industry spheres. By consistently striving for excellence, Prof. Na’Allah has firmly positioned himself and UofA as trailblazers in the realm of higher education in Nigeria.

It was therefore little surprising that the university community was unanimous, from the Governing Council to the staff and students, in resisting an attempt to shove him aside at the tail-end of the his administration here in UofA. I saw the emotional video clip of the hero’s carnival he received, showing that Na’Allah is truly loved by both staffs and students.

May  Na’Allah Happen To Nigeria
