We have not increased the shuttle price"- Alhaji Saidu of Transport unit.

Amidst the NNPCL Tuesday morning unprecedented increase of the fuel pump price from N617 to N897, coupled with the hard struggles to get the fuel, rumors had it that the shuttle prices to and fro the mini campus and main campus had been increased, which was rebuffed by Alhaji Saidu, the mini campus transport unit head.

"We're yet to meet with the necessary parties, so there'll not be any increase until we do", he said.

The transport unit has a head and likewise, the students' affairs, so they must agree before we allow anything of such, but to ease the suffering of the students today, due to the scarcity of shuttles caused by the non-compliant individually owned shuttle drivers, we've directed the school owned busses and the popular Elrufai BRT busses to convey the students in numbers today," he ended.

While speaking with the individual-owned busses, they lamented bitterly on the sudden increase of the pump price, coupled with the struggles to get fuel.

"Most of us have our kids in this school and we wouldn't want to suffer the students to arbitrarily increase the price of the shuttle, since they are all our kids" an anonymous driver said.

Regardless of this development, the usual shuttle students movement is seamless as the school-owned buses and BRT's work tooth and nail to keep the process.

But, how long will they go with this?

The Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Umar Kari has also promised to look into it when contact by our newsmen

"It's a national problem, but we'll look into it though" he said.

In lieu of this development, the federal government has denied directing the NNPC to increase the pump price yesterday.

Dismissing the report in a statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media and Communication, to HE Heineken Lokpobiri, Nnemaka Okafor, on Tuesday and made available to our correspondent, that there was never a time the FG interfered with petroleum pricing with NNPCL, let alone give directives for price increment.

So who runs the NNPC?
