In a historic milestone, female students have emerged as Student Union Government (SUG) president in the University of Jos, Nigeria, breaking a long-standing record of male dominance in campus politics.
Comrade Kangyang Jane Pwajok, the trailblazing first female SUG President of the University of Jos, made history by winning her election with a high margin today! This is a monumental achievement, and I'm beyond thrilled for her and her team.

The election which was conducted using electronic voting on the University portal started at 12:30 p.m. and ended at 5:30 p.m today.

The new President-elect, Comrade Jane polled 1682 votes, and it's clear that Kangyang's determination and hard work have paid off. As a pioneering female leader in her university, she's paving the way for future generations of women to take on leadership roles.

However, it was gathered that the election was free, fair and credible, while applauding the management team of the university for the great feat.

The president elect, Comr. Jane also took to X to celebrate her win.

The University of Jos has a strong reputation for academic excellence, and Kangyang's leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the university's continued growth and success. I'm excited to see the positive changes she'll bring to the university community.
