President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as the acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), following the retirement of Haliru Nababa. Nwakuche Ndidi is actually from Imo State, which is Southeast region of Nigeria.
This appointment is indeed a testament to President Tinubu's commitment to federal character and his efforts to ensure that all regions are represented in key positions. It is a clear indication that he is not tribalistic in his employment practices, as some opposition parties have alleged.
As a champion of national unity and progress, I applaud President Tinubu's efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in his administration. By doing so, he is not only upholding the principles of federal character but also fostering a sense of belonging and shared ownership among Nigerians from all walks of life.
Let us celebrate this positive development and encourage our leaders to continue on this path of unity and progress. For as I always say, "When we gather together, our differences become our strength."
