Former MSSN President Hon. Dr. Umar Aliyu Umar Reflects on Tenure, Offers Words of Wisdom

In a heartfelt farewell address, Hon. Dr. Umar Aliyu Umar, outgoing President of the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria (MSSN), University of Abuja Chapter, expressed his gratitude to Allah, his parents, and the university community for their unwavering support during his tenure.

Hon. Dr. Umar, fondly referred to as Bin-ladan/Abuzanjabeel, praised the Muslim Ummah of the University of Abuja for their tremendous support, acknowledging the significant role they played in his administration's success. He also commended the university management, faculty coordinators, and the Students Union Government (SUG) for their collaborative efforts.

The former MSSN president, a graduate of veterinary medicine from Bauchi State, highlighted his administration's notable achievements, including:

- Securing land for the Association's mosque and secretariat
- Establishing a Media Committee and acquiring a standard sound system
- Providing food for thousands of fasting students during Ramadan
- Disbursing palliative care and securing scholarships for students
- Witnessing a significant number of individuals accept Islam

As he handed over the reins, Hon. Dr. Umar offered sage advice to future leaders, emphasizing the importance of fearing Allah, seeking guidance, and collaborating with others in respective of religion, ethnic and region. He also stressed the need for self-reliance, encouraging associations to develop sustainable sources of income to impact future generations.

Hon. Dr. Umar's tenure as MSSN president has left an indelible mark on the University of Abuja community, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire and motivate students for years to come.
