The second match of the SUG Cup 2025 saw a long-standing rivalry between the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Sciences come to a head. The two teams played out a thrilling 1-1 draw, with neither side able to gain a decisive advantage over the other.

As the match progressed to the penalty shootout, tensions ran high. However, it was the Faculty of Law that emerged victorious, winning the shootout 3-2.

But what really caught the attention of the crowd was the surprising revelation that seemed to explain the Faculty of Sciences' loss. Rumors had been circulating for some time that the Faculty of Sciences had a high number of students who drank garri, a popular Nigerian beverage made from cassava flour. While these rumors had been dismissed as mere speculation, the events of the penalty shootout seemed to suggest that there may be some truth to them.

As the players from the Faculty of Sciences stepped up to take their penalties, it became clear that something was amiss. Three consecutive misses from the Sciences team seemed to suggest that their players were not as sharp as their opponents from the Faculty of Law.

The crowd was quick to attribute this to the garri-drinking habits of the Sciences players, joking that while the Law players were busy eating good food, their opponents were indulging in garri. While this may be nothing more than a humorous anecdote, it's clear that the Faculty of Law's victory has given them the upper hand in this long-standing rivalry.
