Dear critics from the Jamo Movement camp,

Your attempt to cast doubt on Comr. KOREDE Royalty’s candidacy for SUG President with your so-called "questions" is a weak distraction from the undeniable truth: Royalty’s track record, vision, and commitment to students far outshine the empty promises and recycled rhetoric of your paymaster, Comr. Jamo. Let’s dismantle your questions one by one and set the record straight.

1. What exactly has Royalty done?

You dare question Royalty’s track record while conveniently ignoring the barren legacy of Jamo, who has lingered in the SUG for three administrations without a single tangible project to his name. Royalty has been a relentless advocate for students, leading initiatives like the Iddo community outreach, where she personally engaged with stakeholders to address student concerns. Her vocal presence on X sparked action, bringing Hon. Pelumi to kickstart a new project for the University of Abuja. Compare this to Jamo’s fabricated claim of "bringing MTN to school"—a lie so blatant it’s an insult to our intelligence. Where are Jamo’s projects? Where is his proof? Royalty’s actions speak louder than your empty accusations.

2. What does ‘improved student welfare’ actually mean?

Your question reeks of either deliberate ignorance or intellectual laziness. The "It Begins With Me" campaign is not just a slogan—it’s a comprehensive policy rooted in accountability, inclusivity, and student-centered governance. Royalty’s manifesto outlines clear plans to address welfare issues, from tackling clinic extortion to ensuring transparent resource allocation. Meanwhile, Jamo, as the current Director of Health, has done nothing to curb the notorious extortion of students by clinics over late medicals. If anyone embodies nonchalance toward student welfare, it’s your paymaster, whose Jamo Movement mantra is nothing but a hollow phrase tainted by cult-like undertones, devoid of intellectual substance or unionist vision.

3. How does she plan to offer stronger academic support?
Royalty is an educationist with a clear roadmap for academic excellence, not an opportunist like Jamo, who barely has time for his own studies, let alone the academic welfare of students. Her strategies include fostering collaboration with faculty to improve lecture delivery, advocating for accessible academic resources, and creating platforms for student feedback to enhance teaching quality. Jamo, on the other hand, has no record of engaging with academic stakeholders or proposing solutions. Royalty’s proactive approach is a stark contrast to Jamo’s apathy—her vision is rooted in action, not opportunism.

4. What does ‘a more united campus’ look like in practice?

The "It Begins With Me" policy is not mere words but a lifestyle of inclusivity and unity. Past administrations have laid some groundwork, but Royalty’s approach is transformative—she’s committed to bridging divides through open dialogue, equitable resource distribution, and fostering a sense of community. Her outreach efforts, like the Iddo visit, demonstrate her ability to connect with students across faculties. Jamo’s tenure, however, has been marked by division and favoritism, as seen in his mishandling of the Ramadan palliative donated by Seyi Tinubu, which he distributed solely to his faculty, neglecting others. Unity? Jamo doesn’t even know the meaning.

5. The message says she listens—how do we know?

Royalty’s listening ear is not a claim—it’s a proven fact. Her service record includes engaging students directly, from organizing informal feedback sessions to addressing real-time issues like hostel conditions. Her X posts reflect student concerns, amplifying their voices and driving action, as seen with Hon. Pelumi’s intervention. Jamo, however, is notorious for his arrogance—his WhatsApp status alone screams his disdain for others’ opinions. When has Jamo ever held a town hall or listened to students beyond his inner circle? Royalty’s engagement is real; Jamo’s is nonexistent.

6. She’s ‘not in this race for popularity’—so why run for president?

Royalty runs for president because she’s a leader who believes in systemic change, not because she craves the spotlight like Jamo, who has clung to SUG positions for three administrations with nothing to show for it. Her ambition is rooted in service, not ego. Jamo’s prolonged presence in the SUG reeks of desperation for relevance—what has he achieved in all his years? Royalty’s candidacy is about impact, not titles.

7. Everyone claims integrity, vision, and passion—how is Royalty’s different?

Royalty’s integrity is not a buzzword—it’s a lived reality. Her actions, from transparent advocacy to selfless service, set her apart. Jamo’s so-called integrity, however, crumbles under scrutiny. His mishandling of the Ramadan palliative, where he prioritized his faculty over others, exposes his lack of fairness and truthfulness. Royalty’s vision is clear, her passion evident in her tireless work, and her integrity measurable by her consistent service. Jamo’s lies and favoritism disqualify him from any claim to these qualities.

8. Has she addressed the current pressing issues?
Royalty has not only addressed but actively tackled pressing issues like hostel problems, campus transportation, and power supply. Her Iddo outreach addressed hostel concerns directly with stakeholders, and her X advocacy led to tangible outcomes like Hon. Pelumi’s project. Jamo, in contrast, has been silent on these issues, coasting through his tenure as Director of Health without addressing even the most basic student needs. Royalty’s proactive steps speak volumes; Jamo’s inaction is deafening.

Your attempt to smear Royalty’s campaign with baseless questions only exposes your desperation to prop up a failing candidate. Leadership is not about crafting divisive narratives or clinging to power for personal gain—it’s about credibility, transparency, and delivery, all of which Royalty embodies. Jamo’s track record is a blank slate, his promises empty, and his integrity questionable.

To the alumni behind this weak critique, I offer simple advice: find a purpose beyond peddling falsehoods. The students of the University of Abuja deserve better than recycled lies and failed leadership.

Royalty is not just a candidate—she’s a force. "It Begins With Me" is a call to action, and the proof is in her work. On election day, students will choose progress over propaganda, unity over division, and Royalty over Jamo.
