NUESA EXECUTIVE SET TO PRESENT LIST OF NOMINEES FOR COMMITTEES TO PARLIAMENT FOR SCREENING AND APPROVAL.

The NUESA executive council led by it's President, Comr. Deme is set to present names of qualified nominees to constitute Standing and Adhoc Committees for the Association. 

The council has made this decisive decision to allow as many people to play a role in transforming the association and to ease the burden of governance on elected Exco members.

Amidst so many lobbying for juicy committees and positions, the President emphasized his stands on commitment, expertise, merit, fairness and transparency against nepotism, sentiments and personal interest. 

" This association is neither a family, religious, tribal nor regional association but an association for Nigerian Students. So everyone who is qualified can participate. It is not about knowing the president or any elected officials. Some persons have reached out to me to market themselves, sending reminders and trying to buy my favor. But that doesn't count for me, what counts is competence, experience and dedication" said the president in his remarks. 

NUESites have been nominated into the various Committee;

1.Social and cultural Committee 

2. Welfare Committee 

3. Finance Committee 

4. FYB /Award and Dinner Committee 

5. Environmental task force Committee

6. Journal and Magazine Committee etc. 

As at the time of this report, proposed chairpersons of these committees was undisclosed to the press and some notable names were mentioned as members of the committee. 

The parliament at its next sitting will screen , approve and publish names of qualified nominees.
