Arc. Amdi, a square peg in a square hole- RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCE

One of the best decisions the management of the University made was the appointment of Arc. Amdi as the Head of Transport unit. 

This is an office that several students including students leaders never knew existed for the purpose of easing transport challenges on campus for students. 

But the assumption of office by Arc. Amdi brought this office to lime light. Not only with expertise and professional administration but also, the access he gave to student leaders highlighted the function of the transport Unit of the University. He has a group chat with major stakeholders where he gets transport challenges directly and acts swiftly.

This write-up is not in a bid to sing empty praises but to honestly acknowledge the efforts and transformation that Amdi has brought to the university transport system. 

Anyone who has attended either Convocation, Matriculation or Induction in the university 5 years ago and the recent ones in the past two years can stand anywhere as a witness to the changes. 

Convocation and Matriculations happens to be the major programs of the University that brings a huge population all together on the permanent site. 

If you can remember any of these programs five years ago, the memory of the stress in navigating your way either with a private or commercial vehicle  will still come fresh. 

Then it was all about traffic jam, extortion of innocent visitors, covering of kilometers on foot under harsh weather and sometimes destruction of vehicles all in a bid to find your way. While Convocation and  Matriculation are events to celebrate families and loved ones, the stress of navigating the campus ruined some of those moments. 

But since the day the management picked the right a man for the job, Arc. Amdi changed the narrative. Bringing expertise, professionalism, experience and forward thinking with a passion and unwavering commitment to profer solution. 

It keeps getting better after every major event. 

We are putting this out to let the Head of Transport Unit know that even though we don't see the sleepless nights,the planning & meetings with his team and all the efforts, we definitely see the outcome,the result and the impact he and his team is making.

Traffic is under control,no stress,no struggles.

In the last Convocation,we wondered why everywhere was calm,hassle-free, seamless access to all locations on campus yet filled with people. 

Worthy of note was the strategic positioning of vehicles to convey visitors from parks to the Convocation ground. 

Let Arc. Amdi be a testament that competence and passion is what we all need to occupy public offices for a better and greater service delivery. 

The entire students at the Faculty of Education celebrates and honor the Head of Transport. We look forward to seeing the implementation of the planned decentralization of shuttle ground on the main Campus , rehabilitation of the Faculty of Education road and revival of abandoned university vehicles as promised by the Vice Chancellor. 

Let the Architect continue his good work and may God make it easy for him even as he is making transportation easy for the University Community.
