NUESA EXCLUSIVE: 9TH NUESA ASSEMBLY OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

In every union's journey of development, there are moments that become immortalized. Some dates etch an indelible signature on the forehead of history. The 17th of December 2023 was one of such auspicious occasions as NUESA inaugurated her 9th Assembly. 

Members of NUESA have presented their democracy with the gift of this new House of Parliament with Rt. Hon. Zubairu Murjanatu as her first female speaker.

On a press interview, the Speaker expressed gratitude to all nuesites for the opportunity given to her in what she called 'golden moment of NUESA democracy'. "This is not just a new Parliament. My election is a reflection of the aspirations and dreams of all Nuesites. This is the temple of our democracy giving the message of NUESA's firm resolve to the school community. This 9th Assembly will prove to be an important link connecting plans and reality, policies and implementation, will power and action power, determination and success. 

This house will serve as a medium to materialize the dreams of our egalitarian comrades and Parliamentarians. This new Parliament is also an ideal representation of both modern and ancient coexistence." the speaker affirmed.

On the same note,while speaking with the member representating Guidance and counselling, Hon. Chidinma Blessing Anaeto, the Chief Clerk on a phone dialogue, she reinstated her commitment to serve not only her constituency but the interest of all Nuesites.

'New models can be established only by treading new paths'. she said. 

"Today, a New NUESA is setting new goals and forging new paths. There is a new enthusiasm and a new zeal. There is a new journey and a new perspective. The direction is new, and the vision is new. The resolve is new, the confidence is new and today, once again, the entire University of Abuja is looking at Nuesa, the determination of Nuesa, the prowess of Nuesites, the political spirit of Nuesites, with a sense of respect and hope. When NUESA progresses, the University of Abuja progresses. This new House of Parliament will not only beckon Nuesa’s development but also echo the call for progress in the entire school unionism." ended the Chief Clerk. 

The press also engaged the member representating Administration and planning constituency, Hon. Esther Ojone Yakubu,the Chief Whip of the Nuesa 9th Assembly in a phone dialogue.

Today, NUESA has left behind the mentality of "Who cares" and embraced the ancient glory of inclusivity. This 9th Parliament is a living example of this endeavour,Hon. Ojone said.

Every bill, every voice, every particle of this new Parliament will be dedicated to the welfare of all Nuesites”.
