The 2023 NUESA DECIDES has been sticky, messy, raucous and everything in between. It has been a vicious and hard fought battle that has led to an alarming amount of dissension and contention among students. In the heat of the moment, it is easy to forget what is truly important in life of mother faculty, but now that the new government have been inaugurated, let us bind the wounds of division now.
Everyone is sad when their side loses an election, but the day after, we have to remember that we are actually all on one team. This election is best described by President Obama as an intramural scrimmage, "and for those who are not familiar with sports jargon, the term 'intramural scrimmage' usually refers to a practice session or game between two units of the same team. So before playing an opponent, a team divides itself into offensive and defensive units and then plays a game to get ready and often just to have some fun.
We were not first with Comr. Bolkay,or first with Comr. Dammy and neither were we first with Comr. Josh, but we were first with Nuesa, so my family in school, let us have faith in each other, let us not grow weary, let us not lose heart, for there are more seasons to come and there is more work to do.
Now it’s time for Mother faculty to bind the wounds of division. We have to get together as one Nuesa and walk together, let the two teams unite for a better governance, for it takes two to tango
The point, though, is that we all go forward with a presumption of good faith in our fellow students because that presumption of good faith is essential to a vibrant and functioning democracy, sonow, our responsibility as students is to keep doing our part to build that better, stronger, fairer mother faculty we seek
Vis a vis,We tender a sincere and truthful apology to all souls that may have been offended by our campaign strategies during the Nuesa general election.
Finally brethren, let this be a movement comprised of people from all departments, electoral faction, backgrounds and beliefs who want and expect this administration to serve the students voice.
