It is that time again!,in the faculty of education. It is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the best of the University of Abuja lecturers. It is a great opportunity to thank a UofA academic and professional staff for her work to create a great student experience.
There are times when a lecturer goes all out to make sure you understand the topic. This award,presented by the Guidance and counselling 300level class of 2021 is to honour Dr. Bunmi Ojji who inspired the class with her passion and love for the Guidance and counselling profession.
It is meant to celebrate her pedagogical innovations, creations or imaginations methods to teach her topic.
"Mummy's skill goes beyond lectures,she's truly a mother to all" Comr. Nelson Slyvannus a student of G&C,said.
The "It begins with me campaign", launched a few days ago by Comr. Ifesinachi Donald has taken a new variety as, this class of students, took up the clarion and are now bent on recognising the amazing works that people do across the UofA every day.
"Mummy has created a safe space for us all and shown us a level of discipline and professionalism as Counsellors" said comrade Mercy Paul of Guidance and counselling 300 level.
We recognize how much of an icon and a living legend she is to us as she inspires the students both personally and Educationally.
This show of love moved mummy to tears and she expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the unexpected award she received.
Dr. Bunmi Ojji, who was filled with gratitude for the thoughtful act of the class,took the class on a journey to her happy 26years old home.
"Everything I've done, everything I'm doing and everything I will still do is not born out gain but for passion for humanity and God." Dr Ojji, said.
So this award is dedicated to my wonderful husband,kids and the entire class,she concluded.
Comr. Ifesinachi Donald, the propounder of the "It begins with me campaign" also thanked her for the care.
"Blessed are they that sit in the counsel of the Godly,King David will once write in the psalms, started Comr. Ifesinachi.
Mummy's presence with us has been a blessing and if everyone in the class is allowed to talk,the testament wouldn't be a few page. Mummy's teaching is all round, I could still vividly remember the first thing I learnt from mummy,it wasn't Guidance and counselling, it was the act of washing my dishes immediately I'm done eating" Comr. Ifesinachi added.
Yes!,truly, just as Abraham Lincoln would once say,"And in the end it's not the years in your life that count; it's the life in your years", Mummy Ojji will solely be remembered everyday in our life.
Change begins with us all ,as it spreads from the lecturers down to us.
Thank you Dr. Bunmi for being a beacon of light to us all, we love you Ma. The class concluded.
