In a remarkable turn of events, the recently elected Students' Representative Assembly (SRA) of the prestigious University of Abuja has today appointed extraordinary individuals to the esteemed position of the SUG cabinet and 9th Assembly Parliament, after a brief address by the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof Umar Kari ,who performed his constitutional duties while citing Article 8 section 1 and 2 and Article 9 of the Students Union Government constitution,also gave the Electoral Committee Chairman, Comr Tashuid the ground to continue the election while the authorities observed.
Today's election was truly a nail-biter, with the results remaining uncertain until the very end. However, the final outcome was a testament to the democratic process, with the victors emerging with a clear mandate.
The open-secret campaign had been marked by intense interest,relationship protections and sharp divisions, but ultimately the SRA voters had their say and chose the candidate who they believed would best represent their interests and the interest of the about 30000 students of our prestigious university. The transition of power is expected to be smooth, and the new administration has pledged to work with all stakeholders to build a better future for the University.
This election serves as a reminder that even in the most challenging of times, democracy can prevail. The peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of a healthy and functioning society, and it is something that we should all cherish and protect.

His election to the highest office in the UofA student union government was a historic moment, shattering the notion of Emilokan, as his emergence epitomizes a victory for democracy and a reflection of the preference choice of the students, breaking the yoke of godfatherism in the electoral process and system .
In his brief address, Hon. Bashir outlined his ambitious vision for the university:
