Diary of a parliamentarian: First day in the UofA 9th Assembly Parliament.

I never thought I would be together at the heart of UofA politics and lawmaking with such amazing souls(my distinguished Honourable colleagues), at one of the most beautiful buildings in UofA; the Lawsan Chamber.

Nor did I imagine that I would be pounding the beautiful gardens of Lawsan and lobbying for leaders support, sneaking into media soirees at the EFCC zero tolerance club launch or sweating in the Nuesa toilet next to Hon. Wuzy, but I have, and it's all thanks to God and the traditional owners of the house, which gave me the chance to get my foot firmly in the door.

Humility as a rite of passage for present and future lawmakers, and the faith through knowledge, coupled with my amazing leaders and distinguished colleagues who were ready to lead me with enthusiasm on how the Parliament works,I entered the house today.

For some, the soil science political school of thought, this extra hoop to jump through into the house is seen as a breeding process, however for the Alimajiri political school of thought, it is viewed as an essential commitment to a future career that can take you anywhere from student union public affairs and journalism to the national public affairs of our Nigeria.
As a native Nigerian who grew up in a public housing development across the street from Abacha Barrack's gilded golf course, I know what it’s like to have the neighborhood you love hijacked by leaders who is visionary to the core, the likes of Wike and co, those where the distinguished colleagues that I met at the UofA 9th Assembly Parliament.

Now, as I begin my first term in Parliament representing the good people of the education faculty, I find myself in an institution that I love laying it's international foundation today with welfare of the students as the core values of the lawmakers.

The constitution imposes upon me the obligation to from time to time give to my constituency, the 93.3% of the students populace that I represent, the information of the state of the house, While this has traditionally been interpreted as an annual affair, this tradition has been broken in extraordinary times and it boggles the mind how on earth it became possible that all the lawmakers are truly here to represent her constituency with great intentions for UofA.

So, to the 93.3% voice of the students which I represent,I write, we your lawmakers are here to promote the freedom and welfare doctrines enshrined in our Constitution and in our minds, and this great heart of dialogue is for the defense of our Constitution and and our unions democracy.
