In a move to improve student amenities, the University of Abuja has announced plans to construct a bus stand shade at the Faculty of Education. The assurance was given by the Director of Works and Maintenance, Engr. Joshua, during a town hall meeting organized by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aisha Sani Maikudi.
The meeting, attended by student representatives, including Hon. Wuzy Twagher Mercy, Hon. Abida Makama, and Hon. Donald Ifesinachi Udoka, addressed pressing issues affecting the faculty, including the lack of water and inadequate transportation facilities.
Engr. Joshua attributed the water shortage to insufficient pressure to pump water from the university's water board to the distant Faculty of Education. To address this, the directorate has drilled a new borehole and plans to repair the pump for the second borehole to ensure a steady water supply.

The construction of the bus stand shade is expected to commence immediately, providing students with a convenient and comfortable waiting area for shuttles and tricycles. The director expressed gratitude to the students for their patience and cooperation.

This development is a welcome relief for students at the Faculty of Education, who have had to endure difficulties in accessing basic amenities. The university's efforts to address these challenges demonstrate its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for its students.
