AASU President Pays Floral Tribute to Dr. Sam Nujoma

Dr. Nujoma, a Namibian revolutionary and anti-apartheid activist, was a pivotal figure in Namibia's struggle for independence. Born on May 12, 1929, in Etunda, Okahao, he dedicated his life to fighting for Namibia's freedom from South African rule.
As the founding president of the South West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO), Dr. Nujoma played a crucial role in Namibia's liberation movement. He was a key figure in the country's transition to independence, serving as Namibia's first president from 1990 to 2005.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Nujoma received numerous honors, including the Lenin Peace Prize and the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize. He was also conferred with the titles "Father of the Namibian Nation" and "Founding President of the Republic of Namibia".
As the All Africa Students Union pays tribute to this iconic leader, we remember his unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and freedom. His legacy continues to inspire generations of Africans, and his impact on Namibia's history will never be forgotten.
