The purported impeachment of Rt. Hon. Nkem Silas, Speaker of the University of Abuja 9th Assembly, has been vehemently rejected by the leadership and 2/3rd majority of the house. This move is a blatant violation of constitutional provisions, specifically Section 5, Subsection 5b(i), which requires a quorum of two-thirds of all members for such proceedings. The impeachment, carried out with only 22 members, is legally invalid, condemnable, and lacks locus standi.
This action reeks of greed, ill-conceived motives, and a disregard for legal grounds, compromising the integrity of the process. We demand the immediate rectification of this unwarranted action, upholding the rule of law to safeguard students' rights and interests. Decisive measures must be taken to restore constitutional adherence and ensure students' voices are heard and respected.

This unwarranted action must be disregarded by all students and members of public, and the rule of law must be upheld to safeguard the rights and interests of the students. The Directorate of students affairs and the Safety unit should also put all square pegs in square holes to ensure peace and democracy is restored in the union.

Today marks the 77th day that our students have stayed at home without having lectures and instead of the Students Representative Assembly to protect the welfare and the interests of the students, a few powermongers have taken power tussles as their priorities, forgetting what the students voted them for and the students must question their integrity and interest.
