JUST IN: THE UofA SUG, APPOINTS RT. HON. ZAINAB ISSA AS THE ACTING SPEAKER OF THE 9TH ASSEMBLY.

The University of Abuja Students Union government has announced the appointment of the first female speaker in the history of the union, Rt. Hon. Idris Zainab Issa, a 400level student of economics department.

Rt. Hon. Zainab served as the Deputy Speaker of the 9th Assembly before the announcement as the new Acting Speaker of the Students' Union Government (SUG), which takes effect immediately. This appointment follows the recent developments in the SUG leadership, and Honourable Idris Zainab Issa will serve in this capacity until further notice.

The appointment of Rt. hon. Zainab Issa, a writer and a fashionister who is known for her nature of prioritising the students welfare, is a welcome development to the students community and an appointment well deserved.
