Fellow comrades, alumni of our great institution, traditional owners of the house and lovers of the university of Abuja.

The great University of Abuja, a beacon of national unity, is under threat from the federal government's blatant attempt to exploit it for their own political gain. Make no mistake, this proposed name change to Yakubu Gowon University is not about honoring a national hero, but about President Tinubu's cunning plan to secure a second term in office.

The timing of this announcement is not coincidental, my friends. With the Middle Belt tussle raging on Twitter, the federal government sees an opportunity to drive a wedge between the North Central and the main North. But we will not be fooled. We will not stand idly by while our beloved institution is used as a political pawn.

To the alumni, students, and people of Nigeria, I say to you: we must not back down. We must not allow the federal government to reduce our university to a mere political theatre. We are a university of national unity, and we will fight to preserve our identity and our legacy.

The federal government may think they can simply impose their will on us, but we will not be silenced. We will not be defeated. We will rise up and demand that our voices be heard. We will demand that our institution's name be preserved.

So let us stand together, my friends, and fight for our beloved University of Abuja. Let us show the federal government that we will not be intimidated, that we will not be divided. We are a university of national unity, and we will prevail."

We have done a lot, my friends. We have carried cardboards, written articles, and spoken out on television and radio stations. But we will not stop there. It is time for us to take a step further with Operation L square solution.

And so, I call upon you to join us in Operation L square solution. Let us form a joint coalition of alumni, SUG,GAMJI, AISA and other relevant teams to create a legal team and a lobby team.

Our legal team will approach the federal high court and institute a court injunction to stop the federal government from changing our name. We will sight the non-compliance with the University of Abuja Act and the undermining of the legislative arm of the act, and also many other sections that the federal government has breached. The legal team should also be lobbied to feature in popular journalist hangouts like AIT Kaakaki, Arise TV hangouts with Rufai Oseni, and Channels TV hangouts with Seun.

Meanwhile, our lobby team will visit and lobby Northern elder statesmen like Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Mahmoud Bagudu and all alumni lawmakers in Nigeria. We will present them with written documents and facts, highlighting the reasons behind our resolution. Also a document supporting our proposed General Gowon Unity Green Park should be attached or any agreed building to be named after the General.

We will not rest until our institution's name is preserved. We will not rest until our voices are heard. We will rise up, my friends, and we will demand justice.

For it is not just a name that we fight for, but our very identity. It is not just a name that we fight for, but our history, our legacy, and our future.

So let us march forward, my friends, with courage and determination. Let us fight for our institution's name, and let us emerge victorious.

For we are the University of Abuja, and we will not be silenced.
